On my iMac, the best I can do is with the regular OGL plugins from pete and some things still bog down (legend of dragoon specials/texture alignment, xenogears opening scene in lahan/anywhere there is that foreground effect or in large battles) My mac mini rips my imac apart at full res and using the OGL 2 plugin. The package attached has both the PS1 and PS2 plugins, their sources and a special PCSX2 build with some USB modifications (which we hope will be soon integrated in our SVN repository after review). A new version of the Petes Software Plugin is included. It's not designed to have a shitload of features, like PCSX-R,GPU but to emulate the games accurately and at the correct speed. Once you get past the lack of a wide selection of (unnecessary) features in XEBRA, it's really an excellent emulator. But, honestly, I don't really care, since the original PlayStation 1 did not have those features either. As for your statement about XEBRA not having enhanced graphics and save states, I agree with you. PCSX-R does not emulate certain games well (neither does ePSXe), but since PCSX-R has a wide selection of features, like the FOV hack, I'd honestly rather have a crappy emulator with a bunch of features than a crappy one that doesn't have them. Both PSXfin and ePSXe have much better performance in my opinion. You can compare PSXfin to XEBRA and ePSXe to PCSX-R. PSXfin is also not bad and you don't need plugin for multitrack games. PCSX-Reloaded is my default PS1 emulator now but if i encounter problems in a particular game then ill switch to ePSXe only for that.
